TEXT
La Cave is a cellar, espoused to an outcrop of subterranean granite.
A single entrance, braced by twin retaining walls, invites an entry into the cold earth.
Along one face, a series of shelves, gently lifted off the soil holds a living archive of fruits, root vegetables, and fermentation jars, maturing for consumption.
On the other edge, the mother stone reveals its jagged face. The permeable floor is composed of loose shards of granite that have broken off its original conglomerate. Submerged within the earth, the room is dark and cool.
Above, a terrace welcomes the degustation of its delectables for a final moment back under the warmth of the sun.
